Our long-term relationship with Aspall started over 15 years ago. One of our first projects for them, was to create their new brand identity. A corporate logo that would both reflect their traditional roots, yet be applicable and appropriate to a modern company. Shown here is the logotype of Aspall with the knight icon. Each element has a relevance. The name of Aspall refers to the parish of Aspall, near to Debenham in Suffolk, England. The knight itself, is a reference to a long-ago ancestor of the Chevalliers, who fought in the crusades and returned with a Saracen sword. The year of 1728 refers to the time when Clement Chevallier established Aspall Cyder, after having been left the estate through the death of his cousin, Temple Chevallier, in 1722.

Branding for Aspall

The logotype is now an integral and essential part of the Aspall DNA. Instantly recognisable, it stands out from other company logos in the retail arena. It’s versatility has enabled it to be successfully used throughout the Aspall business, from the masthead on cyder and vinegar labels to internal and external signage. The Aspall brand has become a household name across the UK, putting this design agency in Hitchin on equal footing with the major players in brand design.
